According to the classification standard of Chinese industrial and agricultural products the culture and office equipment manufacturing industry is to include equipment of motion picture machinery, audio-visual education equipment, photographic machinery and material, photo-copying machinery and material, microfilm machinery and material, accounting and drafting machinery, typing and mimeographic machinery and other culture and office machinery.
CCOEA's purpose is to adapt reform and open situation for promoting enterprises development, providing service to enterprises, scientific research and design institutes, universities and colleges as well as sales companies, protecting enterprise's lawful rights and interests, reflecting enterprise's wishes and demands, passing and implementing governmental policy and decrees, assisting government to do well its industrial management work, developing various exchange activities with related foreign counterparts of same industry, pushing development of whole trade and playing role as a bridge and linkage between government and enterprises.
CCOEA has set up 4 local Sub-Associations in Beijing. Tianjin, Hangzhou and Qinhuangdao and they are: Microfilm Equipment & Material Professional Sub-Association, Photo-Copying Equipment & Material Professional Sub-Association, Photographic Machinery & Material Professional Sub-Association, Motion Picture & Audio-Visual Education Equipment Professional Sub-Association. CCOEA's Secretary Office is the Standing Organ to have its Office, Information Dept., Trade Dept. and Exhibition Dept.

　　CCOEA's Main Work
According to State Economic & Trade Commission's document spirit in "Several Opinions to speed up Nurture and Development of Associations in Industrial and Commercial Fields" of Guo Jing Mao Chan Ye (1999) 1016 Document, and Association regulations, in entrustment by relevant departments of State Council and under leadership of China Machinery Industry Federation CCOEA is to carry its work as follows:
　　1. To develop regional investigation and study of culture & office equipment trade and to put forward CCOEA's opinion and suggestion in aspects of economy, policy and legislation with development of trade;
　　2. To develop forecast and study of trade's economic situation according to statistics in the economic run analyses to follow 'Statistics Law' and at fixed time to announce economic run report of culture & office equipment trade;
　　3. To establish publication of culture & office equipment trade, to develop consultancy service;
　　4. To organize training courses on talents, technology and occupation;
　　5. To organize fairs, exhibitions etc;
　　6. With approval of governmental Dept to participate in quality management and supervision;
　　7. To give guidance and assist enterprise improving business management;
　　8. In entrustment to organize scientific and technical result's identification and spreading application;
　　9. To draft, supervise and execute trade's regulations and rules, to standardize trade's act, to coordinate price disputes in same trade, to protect fair competition;
　　10. To reflect member's requirement, to coordinate relationship among members, to protect their legal rights and profits;
　　11. Authorized and entrusted by governmental Dept to participate in drafting trade's plan, to proceed initial stage proof discussion of trade's important and large scale projects for technical upgrading, technology import, investment and development;
　　12. To participate in drafting, amending national norm and industrial norm, to organize carrying out, implementing and supervising such standards;
　　13. To participate in delivering industry's production and business license, to participate in examining identification qualification;
　　14. To participate in market construction for related products, entrusted by governmental Dept. to participate in culture & office equipment trade's anti-dump sale work;
　　15. To develop trade's and social public welfare deeds;
16. To carry other tasks entrusted by governmental Dept.
CCOEA sincerely welcomes persons from different countries who are warm-hearted to develop culture and office equipment industry, also welcomes manufacturers from different countries of same industry, sales agents and relevant groups to establish business contacts with us. The Association is willing to provide services to strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperations between domestic and foreign firms in aspects of production, technology and trade.
